Chicken & Prawn


We prepared our spicy combo using our Pride of India Spices:

Coriander (Dhania) Seeds, Fennel (Soomph) Seeds, Star Anise, Tumeric Powder & Durban Oriental Mix Masala.


Serves 4-6.















4 tbsp oil

1 onion, finely sliced

2 Pride of India Star Anise

¼ tsp Pride of India Coriander (Dhania) Seeds

¼ tsp Pride of India Fennel (Soomph) Seeds

5 tsp Pride of India Durban Oriental Mix Masala

1 tsp Pride of India Tumeric Powder

2 tsp ginger & garlic paste

1 tomato, chopped/blended

1kg chicken fillet, cut into pieces

500g prawns, cleaned 

fresh coriander leaves, for garnishing





Heat oil in a medium pot. 


Add Pride of India Star Anise, Coriander (Dhania) Seeds, Fennel (Soomph) Seeds and fry for approximately 30 seconds.


Add onion and sauté until golden brown. 


Add Pride of India Durban Oriental Mix Masala, Pride of India Tumeric Powder and ginger & garlic paste. Mix and fry for approximately 1 minute.  Add a little water, if necessary.


Add tomato and cook for 2 minutes or until soft.


Add the chicken & prawn and cook for approximately 10 minutes.


Season with salt.  Add a little water, if necessary.


Cook until the chicken & prawn are tender, the water has simmered and the curry reaches a desired consistency. 


Once ready, garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve with rice.
