Our spicy, aromatic and full flavoured Crab Curry was prepared with our Pride of India Mother in law Mix Masala & Fish Masala.
Perfect for a medium to hot palate.

Serves 3 to 4.

Notes:

Our Pride of India Tamarind can be added to the crab curry for a more tangy flavour and taste.
If you do not prefer the tangy taste, you can omit the Tamarind completely, in accordance with the recipe.
Pride of India Mother in law Mix Masala can be used for vegetarian, chicken, meat or fish dishes of your choice.
Pride of India Fish Masala is versatile for any seafood dish.

Ingredients

  • 1,5 kg crab, cleaned and washed
  • 3 tsp Pride of India Mother in law Mix Masala
  • 3 tsp Pride of India Fish Masala
  • 8 medium tomatoes, grated/pureed
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 1 onion, finely sliced
  • 2 tsp ginger & garlic paste
  • 4 green chillies (optional)
  • 1 sprig curry leaf
  • coriander, for garnishing
  • salt
  • water

Method

  • Heat oil in a medium pot. Add onion and sauté until golden brown.
  • Add Pride of India Mother in law Mix Masala, Pride of India Fish Masala, ginger & garlic paste and curry leaf. Mix and fry for approximately 1 minute. Add a little water, if necessary.
  • Add crab and green chillies. Season with salt and add a little water, if necessary. Cook for approximately 8-10 minutes.
  • Add tomatoes and mix well. Allow to simmer on low heat until the tomatoes are cooked and you have a thick tomato gravy. Add more salt, if necessary.
  • Once ready, garnish with coriander.
