Lentil Curry

Our aromatic curry was prepared with our: Pride of India Mild Vegetable Curry & Tumeric Powder; and HomeStyle Lentils and Chana Dhall (Split Chickpeas). Ideal for a meat-free, plant-based or vegan diet.

Serves 4.
Lentil Curry

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 1 onion, finely sliced
  • 3 tsp Pride of India Mild Vegetable Curry
  • ½ tsp Pride of India Tumeric Powder
  • 150g HomeStyle Lentils, boiled
  • 150g HomeStyle Chana Dhall (Split Chickpeas), boiled
  • 1 tomato, grated/pureed
  • spring onions, for garnishing
  • salt
  • water

Method

  • Soak HomeStyle Lentils and Chana Dhall (Split Chickpeas) separately overnight or for a few hours. Add water to cover and boil until soft.
  • Heat oil in a pot. Sauté onion until golden brown.
  • Add Pride of India Mild Vegetable Curry, Tumeric Powder and fry for approximately 1 minute. Add a little water, if necessary.
  • Add tomato and cook until soft.
  • Add the boiled HomeStyle Lentils and Chana Dhall (Split Chickpeas) and cook for approximately 5 minutes.
  • Season with salt. Add a little water.
  • Cook for a further 10-15 minutes or until you have achieved your desired consistency.
  • Garnish with spring onions and serve with rice.
